Connecting to Older Projectors

Projectors are something of a niche device anyway, so this is probably the least common reason to need a VGA to HDMI converter. That said, you can transmit images from your computer to an older projector by using an adapter like this.

The key here is that you need to know what kind of resolution the projector requires. Failing to do so could lead to warping or distortion of your images. You also need to make sure that the port is VGA instead of USB or mini VGA. Projectors like these were designed with older cameras in mind, which were used to directly display a slideshow. Older Displays

If you have an older monitor or television that you want to connect to a gaming console or laptop, then you will need a converter (likely HDMI to VGA).
