Blogs and Blogging

This post is my submission to the ProBlogger Group Writing Project – Reviews and Predictions.

Instead of trying to predict anything for the upcoming year, I’m going to use this post to talk about a belief I have about the future – and I will start with a Henry Ford quote that sums it all up:

Whether you think you can or can’t, either way you’re right.

The future is unwritten. It will be whatever we choose to make of it – individually and collectively. This is a very empowering belief. When you realize that you’re the only one in control of your future and take charge, whatever your circumstances are in the present, things start to change.

I’m a strong believer in the Law Of Attraction – just in case you missed the “subtle” ribbon at the top of the blog, “The Secret” is a movie about the Law of Attraction – go watch it if you haven’t yet, it’s a good place to start if you have never heard of the Law of Attraction. I will not go into details in this post, but I’ve had plenty of experiences this year that make it very hard for me not to believe that whatever we experience in life is a direct result of the predominant thoughts we hold – be they conscious or unconscious. We attract the things, people and circumstances that are congruent with our thoughts and beliefs.

So, with this in mind, I repeat: 2007 will be what we make of it. I for one intend to make it a wonderful year for myself – and do that consciously. All of us can do that. We can all create a wonderful future for ourselves, our society, our planet. If you don’t believe you can, well… like Henry Ford said, you’re right. If you believe you can, though, you are right too. So…

What will you choose to believe in 2007?

The Secret – Larry King Live – Part 1

Yes, I can see the database connection errors all over the blog and they are also inside my WordPress admin panel. Working on it. Thanks to those of you who pointed it out. :-)

I have nothing less than 552 comments to moderate, 95% of which are comment spam… All posted within the past 24 hours. This is sad.

I’m hooked on podcasts – well, who isn’t right? I was thinking here that it will be really, really great when we can record our comments as well, something like “commentcasts” – or technically would these be called podcasts just the same? Anyway, that would be nice, I know I for one would like to hear the voices behind the comments. Just a thought, after no updates in a month!!! Gee…

In other news, Sadish and I will be working on a new version of Connections soon, making adjustments here and then, but I don’t want to get into details just yet. One thing I can tell you though, is that I will release at least another color scheme of Connections with a different top image when the new version is ready. Connections has become more popular than I could ever immagine and this is my way to say thank you to everyone who chose to use the theme and, of course, to give people at least another option, since not everyone can customize the theme enough to make it look unique. But before I decide on a color scheme, I’d like to see what base color would appeal most to people, so if you could spare a minute to leave a comment letting me know your opinion, I will surely appreciate it. :-)

Here are a few examples of Connections using different color schemes:

I’ve seen a lot more, but I’d have to search for them.

I keep thinking that I should make the new color scheme as basic as possible, that will make it easy for people to make any top image fit without fighting with the rest of the site. But, well, I’d still like to hear your opinion. :-)

I have just upgraded my version of WordPress to 1.5. and now I’m using the other theme that I entered in Alex King’s theme competition. Do you like i? If you use WP 1.5 yourself, you can use it too: click here to download the ‘Connections’ theme.

Do you think Blogsome should include a link back to theme developers on the footer – and not in some other page of their site – of the WordPress themes they make available for free to their users, considering that they profit from showing compulsory Google ads in every blog?? I think they should… Share your opinion here.

I have been working like crazy the past days. Sadish and I are getting many request for custom work from WPThemes.info. There are very interesting projects in the making and still more to come, to the point that we already felt the need for a project management system to organize things before we start losing track of the many requests that are coming our way. This is such a blessing… I honestly did not expect that many requests in so little time.

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about: Sadish, from WPThemes.info, and I have partnered to make free WordPress themes. After a while, we started offering custom themes for a nominal fee. It’s a good deal for those who want to stand out from the crowd by having a unique and exclusive theme developed for their blog. We design and code and get everything up and running. So, if you’re looking for a custom made theme for your blog or a regular website, contact us.

My Bloglines blogroll doesn’t load here. Therefore, the part of the code after that fails to load too. And the blog keeps loading forever – and never fully loads… How annoying!

Ok, the comments are working again. Thanks, Sadish. :-)
