Whatever your current wardrobe looks like, and whatever trends are currently on your hot list, there’s one thing that’s for certain – this year’s celebrity fashion statements will definitely have an impact on your style this year.
We can all agree that 2017 was a big year for fashion trends, celebrity or otherwise, but this year most of us are looking for something a little bit different from the t-shirt under slip dresses, white boots, and plunging necklines of last year. There’s nothing wrong with them, we just need a bit of a change this year, wouldn’t you agree?
The good news is, the fashion industry never really gives us to much time and opportunity to get bored. There’s always something new coming along the pipeline. This year hasn’t been any different in this regard. We have seen plenty of new takes on timeless favorites as well as quite a few much-needed shakeups in the wardrobe department.
To show you just what we mean, for example, take the case of Yara Shahidi’s appearance in a pair of absolutely stunning blue boots. Back in 2017, everyone was falling over each other in a rush to get their hands on a pair of white boots that you couldn’t really wear more than a couple of times before scuffing. Well, we can thankfully say goodbye to that, as bright boots are a whole lot more wearable, while still retaining their ability to dazzle. A great step forward, if you’ll ask any boot fans out there.

Varsity Sweaters
We’re all aware that varsity jackets have been a thing for a while now, but what about varsity sweaters? It seems that this take on the varsity lifestyle trend is picking up the pace, as we saw when Jennifer Lopez took to the streets in her varsity duster paired with a monogrammed Valentino bag and Timberland boots.
Pastels
Everybody loves pastels, whether we like to admit it or not. Kim Kardashian seems not to mind the haters, though, as she’s been spotted rocking full head-to-toe pastel getups, most of them taken from her hubby’s Yeezy collection. Sounds like a plan.
Shearling
Fur is taking a downturn in popularity, but shearling seems to be coming up strong to take its place. You will have seen it on a number of leather and denim jacket accents, as well as in the example of Gigi Hadid’s full-on shearling coat.
Wide-Leg Joggers
Comfy trends are the literal blessings of the fashion world, and it doesn’t get much comfier than wide-leg joggers. We’ve had joggers in our closets for a while now, but the wider fit is only now getting some recognition, as we saw it being rocked by Hailey Baldwin paired with a bikini top and matching pink hair.
